Technovation win GOLD award for pharma launch in Cape Town
The launch of a new treatment for psoriasis requied an event to motivate and excite the sales force. The choice of venue (Cape Town), conference sessions, activities and logistical arrangements were all equally important in terms of its overall success.
Once Cape Town had been chosen, brainstorming sessions were held to develop a theme which would incorporate the triumphant breakthrough of the product and ideally continue the previous conference key word of "top". An anagram of "Cape Town" is "we can t.o.p"
A descriptive 'working title' theme was honed down to the bare essentials as 'we can...' , a mission statement that ran throughout the event and was reflected in graphics, delegate print and scripting.
The import of the message and the scale of work to date were summarized in a 'video diary' sequence, introducing the product story to delegates on day one. Using a 30 foot 'Watchout' screen served by three overlapping projectors, still and moving video images depicting the 10 year evolution of the product were condensed seamlessly into a dynamic 40 minute presentation. The key presenter was choreographed around the emerging images on screen.
For the audience, the story unfolded effortlessly as text, vox pops, production and marketing images were integrated in perfect sync with the live presenter and further enhanced by dramatic lighting effects. No lectern, no PowerPoint, no autocue, no distractions. The message came through strongly and clearly.
On day two, awards and additional portfolio information were outlined using an interactive quiz format and a team of African dancers performing against the moving visual backdrop. The audience had never seen anything quite like it and responded accordingly.
The event was deemed the most impactful and successful ever. The bottom line is that the original sales target for the year was reached, and exceeded, within three months of the presentation. A unique achievement in itself and a resounding success for the individuals and companies concerned.
